Petroleum Engineering

Summary of the training:

Petroleum Engineering is the economic extraction of oil and gas or other resources from the earth. Producing oil and gas is accomplished through the design, drilling and operation of oil wells and well systems, as well as the integrated management of the subsurface reservoirs where the resources are housed.

The mission of our training is to create, preserve, integrate, transfer and apply petroleum engineering science to enhance the human capabilities of petroleum professionals.

Training aims :
Graduates must be competitive in the international market and be able to continue their education if they wish.

Graduates must have the skills to work as consultants.

Graduates must have the technical skills to be successful professionals early in their careers.

Graduates must have the technical and interpersonal skills to fill management positions.

The objective of the Petroleum Engineering program is to provide a modern education with a good balance between theory and practice of the profession and to prepare students to enrich their knowledge with the necessary continuing education, but able to be productive and contribute immediately upon graduation. The curriculum includes:

The design and analysis of well systems and procedures for drilling and completing oil wells;

Characterization and evaluation of subsurface geological formations and their resources;

Design and analysis of systems to produce, inject and manage fluids;

The application of petroleum reservoir system management principles to optimize resource development and management;

Using project economics and valuation methods to design and make decisions under uncertain and risky conditions;

There is extensive use of mathematics, application software, teamwork, communication and interdisciplinary problem solving.

Students will be placed in internships during the training. International students must secure a minimum of 2 months of corporate internship in an oil company in their preferred country.
